QUESTION: WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE “CREDIT POLICIES” AND WHY DO WE NEED THEM?
ANSWER: CREDIT POLICIES ARE LONG-TERM GUIDELINES AND PLANS FOR YOUR BUSINESS. WITHOUT THEM, YOU RISK THE FUTURE OF YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH LOST SALES, BAD DEBT WRITE OFFS, OR BOTH.

You need to establish, implement and communicate effective credit policies throughout your organization.  Credit policies need to be practical.  You should not create policies if you or your business do not intend to follow them.  Your credit policies must “fit your business.”  They must work in the “real world” as it exists today.

Attorney John Dacey Transitions to Non-Profit Sector

Gammage & Burnham wishes a fond and grateful farewell to John Dacey as he transitions to focus full-time on his non-profit work.

During his time at Gammage & Burnham, John understood and communicated the ins and outs of Arizona’s healthcare system, particularly AHCCCS, ALTCS, DES-DDD and behavioral health to his clients. He dedicated his career to representing health care and social service providers, schools and other service organizations in a role that primarily focuses on providing counsel related to regulatory compliance, reimbursement, contracts, employment, nonprofit governance, government relations, consumer and vendor disputes and insurance coverage. John has a well-earned reputation for his proactive approach, which involves trouble-shooting and preventative guidance designed to help his clients avoid legal issues before they arise.

Harvard Investments celebrates opening of Cadence at Gateway

Congratulations to Gammage & Burnham client Harvard Investments on the grand opening of Cadence at Gateway, Mesa’s newest “fully-planned and fully-amenitized” master-planned community.

Cadence at Gateway – just off SR 24 at Ellsworth and Ray Roads in Mesa – officially opened its doors through a grand opening event Saturday, October 20 with tours of the Community Center, Fitness Center, resort-style pools, builder models and community offerings. 

Craig Krumwiede, President of Harvard Investments, shared a statement about the project:

“We’ve had tremendous interest in Cadence and are pleased to welcome those ready to see first-hand this wide variety of beautiful homes and our private, resort-style amenities.

Manjula Vaz quoted in AZ Central article

Gammage & Burhman partner Manjula Vaz was quoted in an AZ Central article focused on manufactured housing. The AZ Central article highlights manufactured housing as a potential answer to metro Phoenix’s affordable housing problem.

Earlier this month, Vaz spoke on a panel with the W.P. Carey School of Business Center for Real Estate Theory and Practice, discussing the regulatory environment and the planning and zoning that surrounds manufactured housing.
