Heather Boysel becomes Managing Partner

Arizona native, Heather J. Boysel, has become the first female managing partner of Gammage & Burnham, the Arizona law firm established in 1983 by Grady Gammage, Jr., Richard Burnham and Michael King.  She joins an elite circle of female managing partners at Arizona law firms and, at 37, is one of the youngest. Heather was recently named by the Phoenix Business Journal to the 40 under 40 of 2019.

Heather graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University, earning both her Bachelors of Science in Engineering (B.S.E) (2004) and her J.D. (2007).  She began her career with Gammage & Burnham as a summer associate and has never looked back.

LEGAL ALERT: Highly Anticipated Cannabis Case Decided By AZ Supreme Court

LEGAL ALERT: Arizona Supreme Court Decides ‘Medical Marijuana’ Includes Extracted Resin

The highly anticipated Arizona Supreme Court opinion in State of Arizona v. Rodney Christopher Jones has been released: By a unanimous 7-0 vote, the Court held on Tuesday that “marijuana”, as used in the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act (“AMMA”) approved by voters in 2010, includes the plant’s dried-leaf/flower form and its extracted resin, including hashish.

What does the Court’s decision mean for the medical marijuana community?  It means registered qualifying patients in Arizona no longer have to worry about being convicted under Arizona criminal code for possessing allowable amounts of cannabis resin in compliance with the AMMA.
