G&B Founding Member Grady Gammage, Jr. was quoted in an Arizona Republic/AZ Central article regarding a tax break given to luxury apartment complex Salt by the City of Tempe. The complex, previously known as the Lofts at Hayden Ferry, is scheduled to open later this year. It is located along Tempe Town Lake and is being developed by San Diego-based OliverMcMillan. The tax deal makes the City of Tempe the owner of the complex.
Since Tempe is the property owner, several contractors have filed a notice of claim claiming they are owed money and builders have placed liens against the property.
According to Grady, “I’ve never heard of this happening before. It strikes me as a fairly unusual circumstance.”
