PHOENIX – Gammage & Burnham is pleased to announce that attorney Ivan Gonzalez has been elected to the board of directors of CALA Alliance (Celebración Artística de las Américas), a Latinx arts organization based in Phoenix.
CALA Alliance was established in 2010 with a mission to celebrate the richness and depth of Latinx artistic talent in Arizona, and to strengthen connections to Latin America through arts and culture. The organization collaborates with artists and arts organizations to nurture artistic talent, focusing on artists from the Latin American diaspora.
At Gammage & Burnham, Ivan is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. His practice is focused on commercial litigation, contract disputes, and real estate and construction matters in state and federal courts. Prior to joining Gammage & Burnham, Ivan worked as an assistant counsel with the Department of the Navy Office of the General Counsel. In this role, Ivan provided legal counsel to numerous Navy officers and senior executives, as well as their staff, primarily focusing on employment law, procurement law, and real estate.
Ivan earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law. At MSU, Ivan participated in moot court and the Immigration Law Clinic. He also interned with the Honorable Denise Page Hood of the United District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Ivan received his B.A. in Secondary Education – History, magna cum laude, from Arizona State University. Prior to law school, he served as a social studies teacher in the Valley.
