  • Profile

Esther Nies is an associate attorney who brings a client-first approach to her practice. She thrives in fast-paced environments and in every project she faces, she asks one question: how can she solve the client’s problem. Her work centers on Land Use and Cannabis law where she helps municipalities, developers, and property owners navigate local roadblocks to achieve an outcome that works for everyone. Esther is committed to solving problems that provide solutions not just for the client, but for the community at large.

As an associate attorney at Gammage & Burnham, Esther represents clients in the Land Use and Zoning practice group. Esther assists clients in a wide variety of zoning challenges, including rezoning property, applying for variances, conditional use permits, and more. Ultimately, Esther assists clients through each stage of the entitlement process.

Esther graduated from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where she served as a senior for the Jurimetrics journal. While on Jurimetrics, Esther was named the Most Outstanding Associate Editor of the year. During law school, Esther gained invaluable experience working in different sectors of the law. Specifically, Esther spent a summer at a DC-based political law firm where she had the opportunity to draft an Amicus Brief to the United States Supreme Court.

Outside of her legal practice, Esther enjoys spending time with her family or friends on the hiking trail. She is also passionate about tennis, reading, history, and the Supreme Court. Esther is originally from London and enjoys traveling back home to visit family.
