Marcie Shuman approaches her work with dedication and steadiness along with a sense of humor. She is genuine, forthright, and thinks deeply and comprehensively about the complex legal issues presented by her clients. In collaborating with the best and brightest attorneys—her fellow G&B attorneys, obviously, she effectively crafts and creates solutions that are sound and practical rather than quick and flashy.
Marcie’s real estate experience focuses on transactions for homebuilders, master planned communities, and commercial development, including land acquisitions, state land patents, finished lot sales, and land banking. She conducts due diligence, title review, and closings. She drafts sale and development agreements, CC&Rs, easements, leases, public reports and all other documents required for a successful acquisition and a future residential community or commercial hub. Her corporate practice dovetails nicely with experience in joint ventures, entity organization, independent service contracts, compliance and audits. She also regularly negotiates and drafts government service agreements on behalf of non-profits.
Born in San Diego, raised in Hawaii and Utah, mixed with stints in upstate New York and Oregon, Marcie prefers the sunshine and wide-open spaces, living in Phoenix for almost two decades. She is an expert juggler per se, as she manages being an attorney with her family. In her free time, she hikes, plays pickleball, gardens, makes salsa, and creates artwork with pressed flowers collected from her travels. Kidding. She has no free time. But she wouldn’t trade her work, clients, or family to do more things.
