Project Summary

We represent the Massage and Healing Spa regarding their existing massage establishment located approximately 700 feet northwest of the northwest corner of Tatum Boulevard and Dynamite Boulevard. The Massage and Healing Spa is located in Suite C-9 of The Shops at Dynamite Creek. The Shops at Dynamite Creek is within the City of Phoenix and is zoned Intermediate Commercial (C-2) as part of the Tatum Ranch Planned Community District.

The shopping center’s current zoning already allows for beauty shops and salons with limited massage services. However, in order for the Massage and Healing Spa offer massage services as the main use, a Special Permit is required. Accordingly, we have filed an application (case no. Z-237-K-85-2) with the City of Phoenix for a Special Permit to allow for the existing massage establishment.

The Massage and Healing Spa is a local, small business that has been operating in the shopping center for several years without any issues. Now, the Massage and Healing Spa is expanding their suite in the shopping center to offer greater availability of their services to the community. As shown on the Site and Suite Plan linked below, the Center currently accommodates a variety of other commercial tenants including restaurants, specialty retailers, professional services, personal care services, an urgent care, a pharmacy, and a hardware store. The existing massage establishment provides a personal care/wellness service that is complementary to other commercial uses within the Center.
